Under 18 girl's

Killester 37 Glanmire 40

Our girls were unlucky losers in the final game of a tough weekend. Glanmire eked out a 3 point win after a hard fought game.

The Killester girls had multiple chances through out the game but ultimately too many misses of easy chances cost the team. The loss of Grace Kennedy to injury in the first minute really hurt the team also as the girls were already exhausted from a long weekend.

On the positive side, the team still qualified for the qtr final and some really encouraging performances throughout the weekend mean that the team is in a positive frame of mind.

Next up is another trip to cork to play Brunell.

Killester 38 Carraig Na Bhfar 32

Top Scorers
Michelle Clarke 18
Eleanor Mathews 8
Grace Kennedy 5

A game that started slowly, both teams looking a bit flat after a tough day yesterday. Carriag looked slightly fresher and built a 6 point lead. The girls managed to cut it to a 4 point deficit in a half they will want to forget 11-15.

Second half was a different story as the girls came out with much more energy. Michelle led the way with some huge baskets and the rest of the girls following the lead. Some excellent defense from Hannah Moyne helped turn the tide and Eleanor made some big baskets. The girls built a 9 point lead by the end.

The win see's them qualify for the quarter finals, with a final at 3pm today to see who gets home court advantage in the quarter final.

Killester 53 Waterford 44

Top Scorers
Eleanor Mathews 14
Amy Russell 12
Michelle Clarke 10

The girls were ready for what they knew was going be a tough fight. After a slow-ish start to the game the girls got going and led by 10 at the half behind some great play from Eleanor Mathews. After the half, Amy Russell took over scoring 9 points in the 3rd, helping push the lead to 17. In a game where the girls never trailed, thy ran out comfortable winners. Semi final in the morning at 10am.

Killester 52 St Colms 26

Top Scorers
Michelle Clarke 17
Amy Russell 16

After a tight first quarter, Killester led by 2 points. In the second quarter it was a much different affair as the girls applied pressure led by Amy and Michelle, saw the girls win the quarter by 18 to 6. Second half saw St Colms start fast and cut into the girls lead. Hannah Moyne and Grace Kennedy led the way in upping the tempo for our girls and saw us running out winners 52 to 26. Next up is Waterford and the winner of that match tops the pool.
