11890 Killester 69   DCU Saints  93

11890 Killester’s unbeaten run in the Nivea for Men Superleague is over following an horrendous 4th quarter that saw the team totally lose it’s discipline following some dodgy calls.

Killester were 21 -14 up at the end of the first quarter thanks in the main to Pede Madsen and Jermaine Turner but the loss of Eoin Chubb with an eye injury in the opening seconds disrupted the sides rythm.

Saints led 38-33 at half time and 58-52 at the end of the third quarter but that’s is where it all went wrong as a series of unsportsmanlike and technical fouls saw Dave Donnelly’s side stretch into a 20 point lead and there was no way back for Killester.

After the game Darren O’Neill accepted that his side had not played well for the 40 minutes and lost it’s shape when the calls went against them.

“It was the kick in the pants we needed, I accept that we didn’t react well to some of the officiating but we need to learn from that and regroup for next Sundays game against UL”
