11890 Killester 76 - Singleton’s Super Valu Brunell 58
In a fast start, our ladies scored at will. Led by
Ash Sullivan and Louise Gray the girls were causing Brunell all kinds of problems. Some sloppy defending allowed the visitors score 9 of the 13 points from the free throw line in the quarter. Still 11890 Killester had a very comfortable lead 23-13.
Second quarter started well again for our girls. Michelle Clarke hitting a quick 7 points to open the game wide open. Some calls went against the home side to allow Brunell back into the game and the home side lost some composure. 11890 Killester still led at break 35 - 32.
The 3rd quarter saw Louise Gray take 3 steals in a row to open the gap again. Brunell though answered with Amy Walters causing problems. Elaine Stone scored some big baskets to give the hosts a 48 - 42 lead into the fourth.
The final quarter was all 11890 Killester as they pressed home their advantage. Everyone involved stepping up and making big plays at the right time. The lead was into the 20's until the end and the home side ran out 18 point winners.
Next up for our girls is an away game vs Liffey Celtics next Saturday.
