Basketball Ireland is delighted to announce an agreement with The Irish Daily Star to become our Media Partner with immediate effect.
From next Wednesday 19th October and continuing every Wednesday through to the end of the 2011/12 season the Irish Daily Star will carry two full pages dedicated to Irish Basketball comprising results, fixtures and features from across the range of Basketball Ireland including Men’s and Women’s Super Leagues, Clubs, Colleges, Universities and Schools.
Welcoming the development, Basketball Ireland Secretary General Bernard O’Byrne said; “This is a tremendous boost for our sport and will give us a platform to spread the word about what a great game we have in virtually every community on the island of Ireland. I urge every basketball player and fan to ensure that the Irish Daily Star sells out every Wednesday from now until next April and beyond.”
Basketball Ireland President, Timmy Murphy said; “This is a fantastic development for basketball in this country. It is important our community support this initiative, which is sure to give all sectors of our sport, from grassroots to senior level, a voice in the national media.”
Meanwhile, Paul Cooke, Managing Director of the Irish Daily Star: "We're delighted to embark on this partnership with Basketball Ireland. We look forward to working with Bernard and his colleagues as we strive to make the Irish Daily Star the bible for basketball players and fans alike."
